You’re a hard-working mama and you deserve a cocktail!  Aside from the regular busyness of everyday mom life, now you get to weave in the craziness of the holiday season too.

Even healthy moms deserve to let loose.  At the same time, you don’t want to blow all your hard work.  As always, moderation is the key as well as making the healthiest choices available to you.  You can upgrade your cocktails, making them healthier and potentially less likely to give you a hang-over.  Ain’t no busy mama got time for a hang-over!  If you want to let loose this holiday season, you need these healthy holiday cocktails in your life.

So, don’t grab those premade drinks and mixes.  They are full of sugar and chemicals.  Take a look at these healthier versions of your favorite Christmas cocktails.

Rosemary Gin Spritz

Simplicity is one way to make it easy to have a healthier drink. Clear alcohol with some lighter mixers helps keep the calories down and can often make digestion easier. Just be sure to read the labels.

This drink is made by mixing

  • 1 large shot of gin
  • ½ ounce of lemon juice
  • 3 ounces of soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey
  • Garnish with 2 – 3 pieces of rosemary

Now you’ll have a pretty and festive beverage with a healthy kick thanks to the lemon juice, rosemary, and raw honey. If you’re feeling extra spunky, try adding a drop of lemon and rosemary essential oils to your drink. Just be sure to use pure essential oils safe for consumption.

Winter Holiday Ocean Breeze

Want to pretend your at the ocean this holiday season? Try this drink. It is festive, super refreshing and it’s good for your urinary tract.

What you need:  

  • 1.5 ounces of vodka 
  • 2 ounces of club soda
  • ½ ounces of quinine simple syrup
  • 1 ounce of grapefruit juice
  • a few pomegranate seeds
  • 3 sliced mint leaves

You can use crushed ice for a deep and fast chill of the glass while you sit back, relax (pretend you’re at the beach) and enjoy your healthy creation. 

White Sangria

Sangria is an all-time favorite.  It is usually made with red wine, liquor, and fruit chunks, but is there a way for this classic drink to get healthier than that? Well, yes there is! This sangria recipe will definitely raise some eyebrows and impress some guests. This drink comes out best when it’s made in a large quantity so grab a punch bowl and some plastic wrap.

How to get the party started:

  • Slice up 1 apple, and 1 pear into matchsticks or thinner cutlets
  • Place them in a beautiful punch bowl and pour in 2 bottles of sauvignon blanc
  • 2 cups of frozen mango cubes
  • 3 clementines
  • 1 ½ cups of vodka
  • Optional- 2-3 drops lime essential oil
  • Let it sit for the night, then stir it up and serve.

Moscow Mule Drinks for the Holidays

 

If you’re a lover of vodka, there’s a pretty big chance you love a great Moscow mule. The Moscow mule is a favorite of many people all over the world, so it makes sense that there would be some new and great variations of the drink for the holidays. Keep reading for some really amazing Moscow mule recipes that can be an impressive hit at almost any gathering. And those mugs! How cute are they?

Cranberry Moscow Mule

Vodka cranberry pairings have been around for ages, so a cranberry Moscow mule is an expected and welcome addition to this tasty beverage. Just grab your favorite glass, and pour in:

  • 2 shots of vodka,
  • juice from half of a lime
  • 2 ounces of cranberry juice
  • 4 ounces of ginger beer
  • stir with ice
  • garnish with lime wedges and cranberries
  • Try a drop of lime essential oil for an added boost of flavor and nutrition

Now you have a really fancy drink and a boost for your digestive, detoxification and urinary systems.

Rosemary Mule

This drink is a slight twist on the Moscow mule using gin instead of plain vodka and the addition of rosemary to the mix.  For this one, you need:

  • 6 ounces of ginger beer
  • 2 shots of gin
  • small handful of frozen cranberries
  • rosemary sprig for flavor and garnish
  • You could add a drop of lime and rosemary essential oils to give it more flavor and additional health benefits.

Did you know rosemary helps improve brain function? Something you will definitely need after a few mules 😉

Apple Fritter Mule

What’s more festive than apple baked goods? This Moscow mule is sure to be a big hit with people who are trying it for the first time. The trick is to make your basic Moscow mule, but with:

  • 3 ounces of ginger beer
  • 3 ounces of apple cider
  • garnish with cinnamon and apple slices to get that fully authentic flavor

You can also add a drop of cinnamon essential oil here.  It helps to balance blood sugar levels which is super helpful when you’re drinking alcohol.

Peach Moscow Mule

Peach is a fruit that is often underused when it comes to making drinks. To make a peach Moscow mule, you just make your regular Moscow mule with a few slight modifications:

  • 2 ounces of ginger beer
  • 2 ounces of lime juice
  • 2 ounces of vodka
  • freshly sliced peach to garnish and flavor your drink

This drink should be served with ice for the best experience. You can try a drop of ginger and lime essential oils in this one. They help support detoxification and digestion.

    Sangria is my favorite! I normally drink a red sangria but I want to try this white one!

      I usually prefer red sangria too. But I’m mixing it up this year. Red wine turns my teeth purple and that isn’t so attractive at holiday gatherings ?
