If you are like most of the population and a bit groggy and slow moving, I have some tips to help get you going.

Turn your daily shower into a soothing and energy creating oasis.  Sounds like an oxy-moron doesn’t it?  Can something really being soothing and energizing?  Keep reading to discover three simple steps to gently wake up your body, mind and senses.

Follow these steps to create a spa like and invigorating experience.

Create a Home Spa with Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Dribble a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil on the shower floor before you enter.  The oil will evaporate and mix with the hot steam, creating a luxury spa experience.  Do this for two reasons.  First of all, it smells incredible.  Second, it relieves congestion that has built up through the night.

Eucalyptus essential oil is decongestant, antiviral, antibacterial, and analgesic.  The scent is uplifting, cooling and can clear out negative emotions.  What a fantastic way to start your day!

Just by adding a few drops of essential oils to your shower, you will be able to breathe better and you will feel like you stepped out of a spa.

Add Peppermint and Rosemary Essential Oils to Your Shampoo and Conditioner

Add 1-2 drops of each oil to your shampoo and conditioner and use as normal.  Massaging your hair and scalp with these two oils will smell and feel amazing.  Peppermint and rosemary oils are cooling, invigorating and stimulating.  They cleanse and nourish the scalp, stimulate roots, increase circulation and increase hair growth.

Peppermint oil is analgesic, anti-inflamatory, decongestant, expectorant, and a liver protector.  It is uplifting and awakening.  It boosts self confidence and stimulates creativity.  Win-win for a groggy morning!

Rosemary essential oil is astringent, antibacterial, diuretic, and analgesic.  It is energizing, uplifting and stimulates memory.  It clears negative thought patterns and encourages clarity.

Just by washing your hair with a few added drops of essential oils, you can step out of the shower feeling energized, motivated, confident, and creative.  All the while increasing hair growth and boosting memory.

*Do not use rosemary essential oil if you are pregnant, breast feeding, or have seizure disorders.

Use Diluted Oregano Oil in Your Face Cleanser

First, let me emphasize diluted.  I once mixed a small undiluted drop in my face cleanser and had such a terrible burning sensation, I almost threw up (seriously).  Not the best way to start a morning!  Now I mix a few drops of oregano oil in a carrier oil (one part oregano oil to 3 parts carrier oil) and add 1-2 drops to my face wash.  I keep a bottle of diluted oil next to my cleanser.  I don’t necessarily love the smell of oregano in the morning, but with the dilution of the carrier oil and my face wash scent, I don’t notice it too much.  I use it to kill acne bacteria and calm inflammation and redness.  High antioxidant levels help protect against premature aging and the effects of free radicals.  I can smell like a pizza for a few minutes for those amazing benefits!

Oregano essential oil is antiviral, antibacterial. anti fungal. anti parasitic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory.  It relieves congestion and allergy symptoms.

Just by adding a drop of oil to your normal cleanser, you can kill acne bacteria, decrease redness and inflammation and combat aging.

*Avoid using if pregnant.

Now you have three simple ways to increase your energy, motivation, creativity and memory in the morning while increasing hair growth and combating aging.  All it takes is a few drops of essential oils.  Very little extra time or effort is required.

Essential oils are very potent and should be used with caution.  Always dilute essential oils when applying to skin.  Be extra cautious around children.  If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you should use extreme caution and consult a trusted health care advisor or aromatherapist before using essential oils.
