Turmeric Facial Mask

Reduce Your Oily Skin

If you are suffering from oily skin, skip the drugstore products that will dry out your skin and prompt it to make more oil.  Instead, try something made by Mother Nature, like turmeric for skincare.  It will help you naturally balance out the oil and leave you with soft, beautiful, glowing skin.

Try a simple face mask using turmeric powder mixed in some coconut oil.  Beware!  Turmeric can stain and it will leave your skin with a yellow glow. Don’t try this for the first time right before an important date or appointment.  Try this mask at night, giving yourself ample time for it to wash out before you need to show your face anywhere.

Protect Your Skin from Sun Damage

We have been trained to fear the sun.  Natural sunlight has so many healing benefits, but too much time in the sun can damage your skin.  Most sunscreens are loaded with toxic chemicals that increase your chance of getting cancer.  Once again, Mother Nature gives us just what we need.  Turmeric can be used to treat previous sun damage and can protect your skin from further sun damage.

Treat Skin Conditions

Turmeric is also being used to help treat many skin conditions. While you should still see a dermatologist if you have severe skin diseases and infections, some conditions can also get added help with natural herbs like turmeric. It has been shown to help with things like alopecia and eczema, so consider talking to your dermatologist about incorporating some of Mother Nature’s medicine.

Use Turmeric in Skincare for Anti-Aging

Every tired, worn out, stressed mama could use an anti-aging boost!  There is no magic pill.  It takes following a healthy lifestyle including eating a clean diet, drinking lots of pure water and exercise to maintain your youthful appearance.

You also need to focus on natural skin care products.  Adding turmeric to your natural skin care regimen will help with healthy cell regeneration and repair tissue damage.  Turmeric is a potent anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory agent, which every anti-aging skin care regimen needs.

I absolutely love tumeric! I can tell a notable difference in how I feel when I consume it! Always worried about mixing it and using as a facial in case it were to turn me yellow though. Lol However I have a friend who mixes it with shea butter with fantastic results, but she is very dark completed.

Be careful- it WILL turn you yellow! As long as your prepared and know it will take some patience to get back to your regular color, you’ll be fine 🙂 Coconut oil can help to get the color out. Sometimes I use some peroxide too.

If there is anything I love tumeric for, it has to be its anti-inflammatory properties. I mix it with a little blackpepper and warm water and sip it through the day.

You must have a very sophisticated palate 🙂 Good for you for doing your best to keep your body healthy and free from inflammation. I’m a little jealous, I don’t think I could stomach that. I’m always impressed by those who can put on their big girl panties and take their medicine straight up!

    • Shellie Lynn on June 14, 2019 at 5:56 pm

I don’t know why you never thought to rub a strong smelling, bright yellow spice all over your face before ?

  5. Vee on June 13, 2019 at 1:46 pm

This is super informative. I’ve known about the turmeric healing powers but I’ve never really known how to apply them in my life. Definitely going to give this a try!

  6. Marla on June 13, 2019 at 3:13 pm

Thanks for the great tips! I am definitely going to try adding turmeric to my honey facial scrub- at night of course! How long does it take for the yellow glow to fade?

    • Shellie Lynn on June 14, 2019 at 5:54 pm

If you wash well the next day, you should be just fine ? Use some witch hazel or natural toner after washing to get off any of the last yellow hues.

Turmeric is amazing! When I use it on my skin, it feels so soft. But beware, that yellow pigment is no joke ?
